When it comes to mixing classic drinks (old fashioned sazerac,side car), the team headed by affable manager Billy Philips know their (cocktail) options. Add to this very metro drinks culture, a stylish room and cheerful bar, and this makes us wish it was just around the corner from our place.
But its more than just drinks. Morries is also a serious restaurant in the dude food, bar food style and a spot-on spot for a stylish lunch or dinner. An $11 Wagyu Burger is the perfect size with a nicely steamed brioche bun and a fat juicy wagyu pattie. Boned out chicken wings cooked in the japanese Karaage style were superb; crunchy, salty, moist, KFC for grown ups. Grilled mixed mushrooms with fontina cheese on sour dough were rock star good. Substantial dishes include fish, big steaks and pork belly.
What surprises in a town notorious for back packer service standards, is the professionalism and care of the floor and bar crew. They're right on song as is this stunning little bar.
Wine: These guys know the classic cocktails but being Margaret River, their small but serious wine list will keep wine buffs happy too."
